Our History

Our History

Established in 2015 as the Family Health Services Organization, SAFCADO was created to address the pressing needs of marginalized and vulnerable groups in Somalia. Recognizing the disparities in humanitarian access to health, nutrition, water, sanitation, hygiene (WASH), and protection services, we focused on providing tailored support to marginalized women and children.

Our inaugural project launched in the Karkaar region, responding to drought-affected populations. Subsequently, we assumed management of district hospitals in Galdogob and Daaru-salaam within the Mudug region. To expand our reach, we established an operational office in Mogadishu, the capital city, enhancing our capacity to deliver essential services.

Currently, SAFCADO supports 10 health facilities in the Karkaar region, including the Daru-salaam Health Center near the Ethiopian border. Our commitment remains steadfast in delivering focused and equitable services to those most in need, striving to bridge gaps in humanitarian access and improve the well-being of Somalia’s marginalized populations.

By collaborating with local and international partners, we continue to enhance our services and expand our reach, ensuring that marginalized and vulnerable groups in Somalia receive the care and support they deserve.
